Welcome!

Calvary Church has been around for a while, but God is doing something new among us. It's not just our new sound system or new pastor, John Ramer, but it is a new and fresh vision of what it means to be a church who welcomes everyone in their spiritual journey.

No matter who you are or where you are spiritually, you will be warmly welcomed. We don't expect everyone who comes in to be a follower of Jesus, but we do expect anyone who hangs out with us to be growing spiritually. We are a safe place, but safe doesn't mean comfortable. Real answers to life's important questions rarely are comfortable, but we are convinced that living in the truth of who God is is better than being naïve or unaware of what is at stake in our lives.

We are passionate about connecting people to God's love and truth for living in the 21st century by teaching God's Word on Sunday morning in ways that make sense in today's world — just like Jesus did when he taught using the daily life experiences of those around him to explain who God is and how to live in response to that. We are convinced no one embodies the truth about God and daily living better than Jesus Christ, and that is why we have made following Jesus the priority of our lives. We have discovered that the authentic and meaning-filled life we all want is found in Him.

We have the same approach with our music; the form will be similar to the kind of songs you like to listen to. Most of the time our songs are pretty new, but sometimes we enjoy an oldie but goodie.

Our Sunday worship service starts at 10:00 am with great coffee and friendly people. We offer a free book to everyone who is checking us out. Our new mission statement sums up pretty well the kind of church we are in the process of creating:

We exist to enjoy God in loving community while sharing Jesus with everyone.

But be patient with us; we are a church in the process of changing. We aren't "there yet," but we know where we are headed. If this is the kind of church you might be interested in checking out, then come as you are, and you will be welcomed and loved.
